What is Yoga and its benefits?

Yoga is a holistic practice, it is a path toward overall well-being, balance, and self realization.

While the physical postures, asanas, are an essential part of yoga, the are other key elements in yoga:

  • Prayanama, breathwork techniques to regulate and deepen the breath, promoting vitality and mental clarity
  • Concentration, to develop the ability to focus the mind on a single thought or object
  • Meditation, to cultivate focus, mindfulness and inner peace
  • Self-study and knowledge, to reflect on one’s inner self 
  • Ethical principles, to give guidelines for living a virtuous and meaningful life, such as non violence, truthfulness, contentment and self-discipline.

What to expect during a session ?

All living beings possess a vital life force that flows through them. When this energy is abundant, individuals tend to feel healthy and balanced. Conversely, when it is low, they may experience stress, discomfort, or illness.  

Reiki is based on the principle that a practitioner can channel this universal energy into the client to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes and restore physical and emotional well-being.  

During a typical session with me, we’ll begin with a brief conversation to discuss your needs and intentions, or areas of concern.

Once the session begins

You’ll lie down comfortably, fully clothed. Soft lighting and calming music may be used to enhance the experience.  

I will place my hands lightly on or just above different areas of your body in a series of specific hand positions. These placements are designed to channel energy to areas that may need healing or balance. You might feel warmth, tingling, or a deep sense of relaxation during the process.  

The session is non-invasive and does not involve any physical manipulation. Instead, it is a gentle, meditative practice focused on the flow of energy. Many people report feeling calm, centered, or even energized after a session.  

To tailor sessions to individual needs, I may also incorporate complementary techniques like breathwork or yoga movements to further enhance the healing process and promote overall balance.  I believe that combining these practices can be especially effective in addressing physical, emotional, and mental imbalances, creating a harmonious and holistic approach to well-being.
